Pastor Anthony A. Anala, S.V.D.
Fr. Tony as he is prefers to be called, was born in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana, West Africa on Friday, January 14, 1977. He is the youngest of four strong male children. He says that he grew up in a nucleus family system. Both parents are deceased.
Fr. Tony entered the seminary in 1997. He did his philosophy and novitiate in Ghana and theology in Kenya, East Africa. He was ordained to priesthood on August 4, 2007 in Ghana after ten years of formation. He says he personally chose to become a missionary in the United States, and was very excited when his wish was granted by the Superior General of the Society of the Divine Word. Prior to coming to the USA, he briefly worked in Ghana as an associate pastor in one of the local parishes. He arrived in the United States on June 1, 2008 and was assigned to Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, La. and St. Rita Parish in Fort Worth, Tx.
